HFI PIPE PRODUCTION

High Frequency Welded (HFI) pipes, one of the important products of foreign trade, are a valuable component that is widely used in many sectors and for various purposes. However, the adoption of environmentally friendly practices in foreign trade is of great importance in terms of environmental protection and sustainability.

HFI Pipe Production Process and Technology:

The HFI pipe manufacturing process is a method in which steel bands are joined and shaped with high frequency current. In this process, the hot rolled steel bands are fed by a high-capacity band accumulator to ensure a continuous weld. Belt edges are milled with carbide blades to ensure high quality welding.

The tapes are formed by cold forming method using cage rollers and fin-pass set and joined using high frequency current by induction or alternatively conduction methods. The band edges, which reach the welding temperature with the resistance of the steel to the applied electric current, combine with each other and are welded without the use of welding filler material. Afterwards, a smooth surface is obtained by removing internal and external welding burrs.

The martensitic structure formed as a result of the welding process of HFI pipes is subjected to a controlled normalization process to obtain the required ductility and fine-grained structure.

Environmentally Friendly Approaches:

The HFI pipe production process includes important steps in terms of adopting environmentally friendly practices and realizing sustainability goals.

  1. Energy efficiency:The HFI pipe manufacturing process using high-frequency current provides energy efficiency. Low energy consumption contributes to environmental protection and reduces energy costs.

  2. Waste Management: The management of waste generated in the production process is a fundamental part of environmentally friendly approaches. By reducing the amount of waste and encouraging recycling, it is possible to use natural resources more efficiently.

  3. Traceability and Control: The HFI pipe production process is monitored and supported by computer systems. Thanks to barcode applications, traceability is ensured throughout all production lines and access controls are carried out effectively.

  4. Sustainable Material Use:The selection and use of raw materials should be handled with an environmentally friendly approach. Preferring sustainable materials and avoiding the use of environmentally harmful substances support environmentally friendly production.

HFI steel welded pipes are widely used in various fields of application. It is used in different sectors such as oil, natural gas, water and other fluids transportation and distribution lines, heating, cooling and ventilation pipes, steel construction elements. In addition to the standard API diameters, Alioğlu produces 325 mm., 377 mm. and 426mm. It also produces outside diameters.
